The Beginning • 1914
During the early years of the National Federation of Music Clubs, membership was comprised of Music Clubs throughout the country who joined that organization. As time went on, it became clear there was need for the clubs to be more closely associated, so clubs in various states formed state federations and were represented on the National Board by their (respective) state presidents.
In 1914, the Minneapolis Journal sent Miss Edna F. Hall to the National Federation of Music Clubs National Conference. Mrs. Harry W. Jones, past president of Thursday Musical, attended the conference with Miss Hall. Mrs. Harry W. Jones was elected the first Minnesota representative to the National Federation of Music Clubs.
