Meetings and Conventions
2011 – Spring State Meeting – Schmitt Music, Galleria – Edina, MN
- Lana Bailey Gift – $500.00 donated to fund in honor of outgoing national president
- Adult Composers’ Critique award increased from $100 to $200
- Adult Composers’ Critique winners:
- Marcia Benson of Clearwater and Heidi Hansen of Becker performed their winning composition, an entertaining piano duet entitled Boog-E-Lise
- International Music Camp Summer Scholarships awarded to Erin Grout, flute; and Melody Rossiter, violin
- Junior Composers’ Contest: Four Minnesota students were declared regional winners and advanced to the national level: Christina Li, Julie Kloehn, Christopher Neiner and Dylan Perese
- Junior Composers’ Scholarship Winners: Luke Gion and Rachel Pompa, , Andy Troska, Chris Neiner and Dylan Perese
2011 – Summer State Meeting and 55th State Convention held in Willmar, Minnesota

- Election of Officers: President – Pat Steege; 1st Vice-President – Stacey Voit; 2nd Vice-President – Mary Wescot; Secretary – Mary Kaye Rabaey; Treasurer – Peggy Skrogstad; National Board Representative – Sarah Twedt; Historian – Cheryl Schmidt; Student Auditions and Awards- Ann Oleksowicz has agreed to assume the chair position of this committee; Teacher Trust Grant Chair – Mary Strasser; International Music Camp Chair – Karen Erickson
